Hello e-fam!
Blessed September to you all. I pray the Lord has kept you all for the last 9 months.
I have been well however it’s been a season of intense prayer, hence the silence and I will share my experiences in subsequent posts on the learnings. However, today, I would like to talk about a personal experience I have had in relation to the Lord answering prayers. Specifically, how do we steward the challenging seasons after God has granted our prayer requests?
A few years ago I had been trusting the Lord for a breakthrough in a certain area of my life to change. After a lot of closed doors and missed opportunities, at last the Lord opened the door I had been trusting for. I was estatic! I felt that finally i am stepping into my new season and everything was falling into place. Looking back, one of the things i didn’t realise, is that just because the Lord has blessed you does not mean there will be no challenges.
As soon as I begun the new journey, opposition broke out from all fronts. I found myself in survival mode, and after a few months the blessing I had received nearly caused me to fall into depression. It was a really tough season. At some point, I wondered if I really heard God. “Was this really it?” I questioned everything.
For a few years , I have struggled with this and I pray this post will help those of you who are struggling after receiving the answered prayer. As I was pondering on my situation, and I would like to share what was impressed upon my heart.
- You will encounter challenges.
- This is guaranteed, so expect it and do not be discouraged. The enemy will do everything in his power to ensure that you do not enjoy the blessing. Please do not fall into the trap of complaining and murmuring. In my case, the challenges begun immediately after my new season has come upon me however at the time I didn’t realise it.
- Once the prayer point has been answered, do not stop praying
- The biggest mistake we make as Christinas is we relax after our prayers have been answered. However, this is not the time to quit praying, rather it’s important to intensity prayers as there will be continued opposition from the enemies camp.
- Expect contention
The enemy will fight you with all he has got. Expect this and prepare accordingly even after the Lord has answered your prayers.
- The Lord wants to mature you though this season
- An answered prayer is an invitation to grow in the Lord, to be able to propoerly steward the next season
- The bible tells us that after the Israelites entered the promised land, the Lord told them He would not drive out their enemies out at once, they would have to take territory little by little. The challenges in navigating the new season after an answered prayer present an opportunity for spiritual growth. The Lord wants to mature, hence the battles we will encounter will be larger than the last season.
- Exodus 23:29-30 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.
- Do not quit
- My encouragement to you is not to be discouraged and quit. The enemy ‘s agenda is to discredit God by wearing you out . This is. because he does not want us to give the glory to God. Keep holding onto the word of God for your life and do not stop praying through until you get to see the entirety of the full manifestation of the answered prayers for your life.
- Remember, the Lord is with you.
What if today is the day you say YES to Jesus? ❤️ Today, choose Jesus. Choose salvation. Choose a new beginning by repeating the below prayer out loud.
