Wow! It has been such a long time since I have written a post! My last post was back in 2021 however, I am going to attempt to post more frequently going forward.
Today, I wanted to drop a very short post concerning what I felt the Lord has placed on my heart on the topic of believing. It is interesting to note that the word “believe” is intertwined with “faith” and we cannot separate the two from each other. Therefore the basis of our belief is faith.
To have faith is to have an ”allegiance to duty or a person, to belief and trust in and be loyal to someone’‘ while to believe is defined as, ”to consider to be true or honest, to accept the word or evidence of and to hold as an opinion’‘
By getting born again, we made a public declaration of our belief in God and the works of the cross that Jesus died and rose again and that He is the Son of God.
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.. ~ Romans 10:8-10
Faith is a huge part of our salvation and in-fact the bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. – Hebrews 11:6
Can you try and go back to the time when you first got born again? How can you quantify your faith then on a scale of 1 -10? If you compare the kind of faith that you had then when you first believed, can you say your faith in God is now greater or it has since withered?
I urge you to closely review your walk with God: Have you noticed your prayer life slowly going down or. is it perhaps non existent? Are you spending time studying the word of God, have you been fasting or is it now a struggle? Are you regularly going to church or are having online church?
Friends, The Lord is calling us back to the place when we first believed. He wants us to go back to the time when we diligently sought after Him, and had child like faith. In Exodus 33:14-16 Moses proclaimed, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” and that is the place we must all get back to. This is not the time to wander away from God, more than ever we must stick close to God.
We are living in a time when there is the world is conveying the message of believing in self howver outside of God we can do nothing
I leave you with the words contained in the book of Proverbs 3:5-6,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
